Welcome to Still Stories
A quiet place for memories, quiet moods, and photographs.

I'm just looking for a quiet place for contemplation and reflection. Someplace where people can look beyond the surface of life's offerings.
At first, I told a friend — my friend Rebecca — that I was “just looking” for a quiet space. And she said:
That’s an interesting premise. But quit looking for it. Create it.
That was it. The lightbulb moment. The missing piece of the puzzle. The golden spike in the transcontinental railroad. The maraschino cherry on top of my sundae. That’s when Still Stories truly began. It surprised me how much that one comment helped me see the heart of what I’m trying to do here.
Still Stories is not about photography in the usual sense.
It’s not about gear or trends or quick hits.
It’s about stillness.
About memory.
About the kind of image that becomes a doorway into something deeper — a person, a moment, a feeling that refuses to be lost.
Each post will share one of my photographs — many from decades ago — paired with the story behind it. Not a caption. Not a summary. A lived, human moment remembered in full voice.
Sometimes quiet. Sometimes sharp. Always real.
What Still Stories Offers You
I’ve carried a camera most of my life — not for likes or clients, but to remember. I’ve always been drawn to quiet subjects and fleeting moments — the kind most people pass by without noticing, but that somehow stay with you. I don’t always take many shots. Sometimes just one. Other times, dozens. But later, when everything else gets fuzzy, that one image brings it all back. A person. A moment. An interesting little object. A place I didn’t want to lose.
Still Stories is a place for those moments. Each post pairs a photograph from my archive — sometimes decades old — with the memory it holds. If you’ve been feeling overscrolled, overstimulated, or simply in need of a pause, this space is for you. No urgency. No noise. Just one image, one story, and a moment to be still.
I couldn’t find a quiet place on the internet — so I’m creating one.
What to expect:
- A new story on Monday, Wednesday, & Friday. Tuesday & Thursday hold something special, too. Slow Notes.
- Always free (for now)
- No pressure, no pledge buttons, no clutter
- Just a photo (or a few if it needs it) and the story it unlocked
I’m not just trying to build a brand. I’m building a place — and you’re welcome here.
You can subscribe if you'd like these to come directly to your inbox. Or just drop in when you need to breathe.
If that resonates with you, I hope you’ll subscribe. No pressure, no noise — just a slower rhythm.
Thanks for being here. Let’s begin.
